Dr Rowena Sheldon

MB BS Qualified 1997 University of London

I trained at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

After graduating in 1997 in trained as a surgeon – working in the Manchester deanery. I worked mainly in the colorectal field and had a specialist interest in the pelvic floor and faecal incontinence. I did an MD 2 year research degree looking at sacral nerve stimulation and faecal incontinence research that has been published and helped continue the battle to treat faecal incontinence.

I switched to general practice as despite enjoying surgery I decided that patient contact was more enjoyable.

During my GP training I have taken an interest in gynaecological and contraception and at the surgery run the contraceptive clinics. We run a 3 weekly clinic to do Mirena’s , copper coils and the nexplanon- contraceptive implants- please contact reception to make an appointment to discuss any contraception issues.

I am the CQC and respiratory lead for the practice
